How can I learn and be trained for a life time of impacting others for the Lord?
In Mark 4:26-29 Jesus gives a parable on the "growing seed." This parable illustrates what GROW is all about at Compassion. Jesus says, “This is what the kingdom of God is like. A man scatters seed on the ground. Night and day, whether he sleeps or gets up, the seed sprouts and grows, though he does not know how. All by itself the soil produces grain—first the stalk, then the head, then the full kernel in the head. As soon as the grain is ripe, he puts the sickle to it, because the harvest has come.” This parable speaks on many things. But the key thing to pay attention to is the growth of the seed--which is the good news of Jesus within us. Our goal with GROW is simple: to equip, empower, and release the church for Kingdom impact. This is also called "discipleship."

Current session:

"Holy Spirit 101"

In John 14-16 Jesus lays out the importance of the Holy Spirit's role in the life of the believer. We see this further played out in the book of Acts and following portions of the New Testament. While He has always been present--even in the OT--He has often been the most misunderstood part of our faith. We were not made to walk this journey alone. The Spirit of God is our greatest friend, ally, confidant, guide, and a whole lot more.

In Holy Spirit 101 we will build off of Phase 1 "The Holy Spirit and Me." Each person present will receive the manual for the class and will be expected to be familiar with each assigned chapter before coming. This will enable us to go deep into the Scriptures together. This is for anyone at any stage. The best part about GROW is that it is community based learning: there is a teacher of course as well as clear direction, but we also aim for communal discussion and learning from one another. But don't worry, there is no pressure. Come and just be present. That works too.

Come ready to dive in and learn with us!

We look forward to having you join us to become equipped, empowered, and released to who you are called to be in Christ!

Overseer of GROW:

Pastor Noah leads a dedicated teaching team at Compassion who strive to see its members grow and mature in the faith. One of our values at Compassion is "Be faithful in the basics: prayer, Scripture, and serving others." When it comes to progressing in our lives as Jesus Followers--often called "discipleship-- there is no greater resource given to us than the Holy Spirit and the Scriptures.

We are dedicated to offering the best we can in the study of Scripture so that you are equipped to understand, interpret, and apply the living Word of God for yourself. Our team of dedicated women and men of God do their best to accomplish this through GROW (our mid-week gathering for training and teaching) , Sunday morning training, as well as various workshops and seminars.

We not only want to equip the Body of Christ with knowledge and understanding; we also want to train up the Church for the work of ministry as Ephesians 4 communicates. Whether you are a new believer or have been following Jesus for a long period of time--there is something for you. For info on what we are offering each quarter please watch our site as well as social media pages. You can also send an email to NoahS@CompassionChurchOH.org directly for info.  If you are part of Compassion and have a desire to be trained up in preaching and teaching the Word of God and/or church planting please also contact Pastor Noah at the above email address.
