Dance Worship Instruction: All ages are welcome!
Thursday Evenings

Compassion Kids Room
From our Instructor of Dance Ministry:
This ministry is meant for the world, but God has shown me that it is needed right here in our community too. Though we have dance studios everywhere in America, it is often not seen as anything more than an extracurricular activity. But we were created to worship our Creator. Though we all have this one purpose, we were each created uniquely, with different passions and gifts. This means there is great freedom in the different ways in which we worship the Father. Why wouldn't we use the passions He gave us to give the praise and worship back to Him?
I have had people who do want to see dance worship in the church and not just in the world approach me before saying, "I have always had a passion for dance, but I don't have any training." or "I have an interest in dance worship, but I don't know what I'm doing." That's what this ministry is all about.
It is set up like a dance class: participants learn basic dance steps and technique, and then how to use that in free, spontaneous worship as the Holy Spirit moves in you. With a larger dance vocabulary, you can give even more of yourself in your worship. Then, going beyond the classroom, dancers are free to be integrated into Sunday service. What the Holy Spirit does in this ministry is not to be contained in our Thursday night sessions.
Dance is an important part of worship service because as dancers move in the freedom of the Holy Spirit, it speaks to the Holy Spirit in others in the congregation to break out in freedom as well. So, just as there is freedom in worship, there is freedom in who is included and invited to be a part of it. This ministry is meant for all. It doesn't matter if you are 8 or 80, male or female, a part of Compassion or a different church in the area. If God created you with a passion for dance, come worship with us!

Instructor of Dance Ministry:
Cassidy LiVigni
"I began dancing at the age of five." "I danced with a pre-professional ballet company all through high school." "After graduation I started teaching at a local studio." "I was always passionate about dance and about teaching, but I felt God had a greater purpose for it. I just didn't know what it was."
"Well, I have also always been very passionate about Africa since I was a young child." "In October of 2017, I went on my first mission trip with Pastor Noah and a small team to Kenya." "I didn't know exactly what my role was within the team, but I had high expectations that God would show me some big things." "And He did." "I felt more at home in Africa than I have anywhere else in my whole life." "I met incredible people and God used me in amazing ways." "I also had the opportunity to meet a couple whose ministry was teaching the arts to kids in children's homes." "You see, they don't have opportunities to learn different skills like singing, dancing, art, and music over there." "I was so overwhelmed when I walked into their dance studio. I never expected to ever find myself in a ballet studio in Kenya." "As soon as I returned home from that trip, I booked a ticket in faith to go back by myself to live there that summer." "I again had no idea what I would be doing, but I had faith God would move." "I met kids that desperately wanted to learn how to dance, and ended up creating a dance program that I taught in two different areas to about 60 kids of all ages." "God combined my two passions in a beautiful way." "And what was even more beautiful was that He was using it for His kingdom and glory." "I was amazed how the congregations were moved by seeing their children dance this way." "They had no idea their children were capable of this, moving and worshipping God in this manner." "I have since been able to go back a few times to continue this ministry in other areas, and I have watched them from afar continue it on their own and even expand it into new places." "God has given me a global vision for this ministry: to go into all the world and spread joy and freedom in Christ through dance." For more information email me at [email protected] |
