Rise Rally
Wednesday Evenings
7:00pm - 9:00pm
In the Refuge
We welcome students in 7th grade and above.
In 1 Timothy 4:12, the apostle Paul encourages Timothy that despite his youth and how some may see him, that he is to set a standard for others to live by in his speech, conduct, love, faith and purity. Our aim as a ministry, is to challenge and motivate students to lead the charge in the same way Timothy did, to run the race, to fight the good fight and live by example to their families, friends and the world while we all fulfill our life purpose of knowing Jesus and making him known to others. We instill in our students that God has a plan, now, for them in their lives and embolden them to seek his face and make use of the spiritual and creational gifting's they have been given to glorify his son in all that they may do or say…
We aim to bring life and energy into every aspect of our ministry to show students that following Jesus is not a boring set of rules but the adventure of a lifetime!

Rise Student Ministry Director:
Josh Schen
My biggest passion in life is to help lead and inspire others into becoming all that God has designed them to be. Throughout my life it has always brought me the most joy to see others rise up from the ashes of what was and step into what can be. I love a good redemption story! Maybe that’s why "Gladiator" and "Remember the Titans" hit my soul in those good spots."
From my time in the Marines, to becoming a father and now working with students of all ages, I have always drawn inspiration from the story of the Apostle Paul. His radical transformation on Damascus road has always shown me that anyone, regardless of their past, can be used and loved by Jesus. His father to son relationship with Timothy has always been the standard for me in discipling young followers of Christ. I just love how he encourages him in 1 Timothy 4:12. That despite his young age, he is to show others by example, how to live a life that honors God. Some hobbies and things I like to get down with are Soccer matches (Futbol for my cultured friends), I’m a huge history buff, I love getting outside to use survival techniques I learned in the marines, a good gaming session of "Mario Kart" with my son and learning to become a DIY person on my first home I recently bought. What I love about being at Compassion is the opportunity I am gifted to guide young adults in their pursuit of and understanding of Christ. This generation of young people are full of passion! Imagine if we fan into flame that passion with the power of the Holy Spirit and show them they have a true purpose in Jesus…….watch out!! My goal at Compassion is to empower our students to live their lives out loud, to be an active part of the body and not just spectators and above all, to know Jesus and make him known to others.
